CLARE CONDON SGS (July 2008 - 2010)

The President for Catholic Religious Australia, from July 2008 until July 2010, is Sister Clare Condon SGS, the Congregational Leader of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan. Sr Clare was elected Congregational Leader in September 2005. Other positions which she currently holds are:
Member of the Board of Directors of Catholic Church Insurances;
Member of governing company of the Australian Catholic University;
Member of the Administrative Council and regional representative for the International Conference of Benedictine Women.

MARK RAPER SJ (July 2006 - 2008)

Father Mark Raper SJ, of Melbourne, was President of Catholic Religious Australia from July 2006 - July 2008 while he was Australian Provincial of the Jesuits (Society of Jesus). His term ended on July 31. By then, the new Jesuit Superior General, Fr Adolfo Nicolas SJ, had appointed Fr Raper the President of the Jesuit Conference of East Asia and Oceania (JCEAO), the position Fr Nicolas, himself, held until his election as Father General on January 19, 2008. Fr Raper moved from Melbourne to Manila.
Acting President, CHRISTINE BURKE IBVM

Sister Christine Burke IBVM was the Vice-President of Catholic Religious Australia from July 2006 - July 2008. These articles were written in her capacity as Acting President while Fr Mark Raper SJ was in Rome for three months at the beginning of 2008 during the Jesuits' General Congregation.
